Proposal Preparation Assistance
and Test Planning
The staff at nees@berkeley can assist you with developing your NEES-R 2008 proposal. We can provide information about:
Capabilities and resources of our laboratory;
Proven ways to use our equipment, including our fast actuator, high-speed cameras and laser scanners;
Possible configurations of our reaction walls to best suit your tests;
Methods and techniques to successfully develop hybrid models and conduct hybrid simulations at nees@berkeley;
Best-practices in data interpretation, curation, storage, and uploading to the NEES repository.
We can also help you obtain competitive vendor quotes for specific equipment, specimens and/or services beyond the ones we provide, as stated on page 11 of NSF NEES-R 2008 RFP. In particular, we can help you contact experienced contractors who have already manufactured specimens made of steel, reinforced concrete and wood for other researchers using our lab.
